Welcome to The Mindful Brew

I’m glad to have you join me in this virtual cafe’. I’m a coffee (however mostly chai) lover but you’re welcome here as my friend whether you prefer coffee, tea, or neither. The Mindful Brew exists to provide sips of inspiration, stirrings of a little self-care, and insights about all things wellness. Over on the podcast, by the same name, we chat about all things wellness with no judgment and no stigmas, just honest, informal and meaningful discussions about wellness.

As we venture into a new year, I invite each of you to take a moment to pause and reflect. The beginning of a new year is often full of excitement about resolutions, big plans, and hopes that this time around we’ll actually implement the changes we’ve been dreaming about. I’ve never been a fan of making new year’s resolutions. I would, however, like to talk about revelations; revelations that come in the form of insights, lightbulb moments, and even the tiniest of quiet mind shifts that happen when we truly listen to ourselves.

Your Wellness Journey

Maybe your resolution this year is to be more present. Or perhaps it’s to get more sleep, drink more water, exercise consistently, or to finally start a creative project you’ve been talking about. If I were to make a ‘resolution’, I would resolve to not step foot inside of a Target this year, but that’s another post for another day. Whatever your resolution is, it is yours to own. As most new year’s resolutions are typically wellness-related, I want to remind you that wellness is not a one-size-fits-all formula. It’s a journey. It’s your journey. As with any journey, it can take unexpected turns and have challenges along the way. Some days will be good and some days not so good-but that’s okay.

My hope is that you’ll share those moments here with me, that as we build this community, we will learn from each other, and celebrate every win-big and small, together. I know it’s not quite the same as being in a physical cafe’ with your friends, but technology has done so much over the years to bring people together who would not have otherwise met.

At The Mindful Brew, this is your virtual cafe’, and informal space where we chat about all things wellness, mental clarity, and personal growth, all while sipping on a metaphorical cup of coffee (or tea, if that’s more your style). Here, it’s about being real. It’s about recognizing that wellness isn’t about checking boxes or perfection. It’s about building a life where we show up for ourselves, stay well-grounded (pun intended) in gratitude, and make mindful choices that lead to a deeper sense of well-being.

Resolutions, Revelations, and Real Life

So, how are you feeling about resolutions this year? Are they about setting intentions or reflecting on lessons from the past? Perhaps it’s a little of both. Or maybe you’re still trying to figure it out. That’s okay too and the good news is, part of your journey is figuring it out. It’s about exploration. No one has it ‘all’ figured out and sometimes the best revelations come from the quietest and smallest of moments.

In the coming weeks, I’ll be sharing thoughts, tips, and personal insights on how to cultivate a grounded, mindful approach to the year ahead. I want this to be a conversation-a chat with you, my new friends. I’d like to think that while you are reading this or listening to the podcast, you have your favorite drink in your hand; you get comfortable, and not only enjoy the conversations we have surrounding wellness but that you also take part in them. I can’t wait to hear from you and to share in this journey of self-discovery, an attempt at balance, and, of course, wellness.
